Thank you ALL who came out to support as our staff, families, students, & community spoke up about why a fair contract is so important for High Tech High. See press coverage below.
The votes are in: 89% of staff express No Confidence in HTH Leadership
An overwhelming majority of High Tech staff have voted to support a Resolution of No Confidence in the High Tech High Board of Directors. A resounding 89.23% of certificated staff no longer has confidence in the High Tech High Board of Trustees’ ability to lead our schools in a manner that aligns with its design principle of Equity, Personalization, Authentic Work, and Collaborative Design. Since April of 2021, staff at High Tech High have been fighting for a fair contract. With the support of our community, we have made progress - but we are not there yet. HTH administration wants to give the CEO final say over discipline and termination - retaining the right to fire staff without reason or explanation. This has contributed to a culture of fear and uncertainty. Staff want job security, a fair and transparent system of evaluation and discipline, and due process if they are unfairly fired. Most importantly, our students deserve an end to unnecessary staff turnover. We need the community's help to urge the administration to accept our proposal. Our students and schools deserve better.
It's time to RALLY!
Friday evening we met with the CMO for a one-hour bargaining session. During that session, our bargaining team presented an updated comprehensive contract proposal.

Revise las listas de posiciones aquí, o nos puede comunicar con preguntas específicas. Our bargaining team met with the CMO for an hour yesterday, for the CMO to present an updated comprehensive package proposal that addresses all remaining issues for a first contract. While their proposal moved us closer to agreement, and we remain confident that a strong first contract can be reached, the CMO’s proposal fell short in several key areas:
Although we did not come to a final agreement yesterday, we made progress - including the end to at-will employment! Public pressure and sharing of your stories by families, staff, and student made an impact!
See full bargaining update below: Yesterday we had a brief bargaining session so our team could present a packaged proposal & give the CMO plenty of time to consider a counter before our next session on the 29th. We hope this proposal is close to what a final contract will look like!
